About The Arbitration Committee
Arbitration Committee is the independent arbitration body of City University of Hong Kong Students’ Union.
The Arbitration Committee was established pursuant to chapter 9 of the Constitution of the Students' Union as one of the central units.
It is responsible for handling all disputes and complaints within the Students’ Union; and interpreting the CityUSU Constitution.
The roles of The Arbitration Committee are governed by the Constitution of the Students' Union, the Terms of Reference of the Arbitration Committee, and the Rules of the Arbitration Committee (Procedural Guidelines).
The Arbitration Committee is formed by Chief Arbitrator, Secretary-General and other Arbitrators who are appointed by the Union Council. Through maintaining judicial independence and upholding the rule of law, it aims to safeguard the constitutional rights of the Students’ Union members and the confidence of our members towards the dispute resolution system of the Students' Union.
The Arbitration Committee will review the arbitration procedures irregularly to ensure efficiency and keep up with professional standards.
