仲裁委員會旗

The emblem of the flag incorporates the Students’ Union icon and the Scales of Justice.

There are four standard sizes specified to the flag. Numbered from 1 to 4, as outdoor flag, indoor flag, portable flag and table flag correspondingly. Photo at right showing a no.2 flag displayed in the Committee's office, sized in 1 square yard.

The current no.2 flag is HAND-MADE in Hong Kong by a fifty-year-old company Woo-Hing Flag (和興旗家).  The Flag is a Hand Sewn Appliqué Flag - the flagmaker sewn different colours of fabrics in a traditional way rather than just printing the pattern from a machine. Its pole was also locally manufactured by a hundred-year-old carpenter shop, Sze Cheung (泗祥號). It is a well polished woodpole in 7ft (213 cm) tall. With those stories and spirit behind this flag, it a very valuable antique to the Committee.

Corona Muralis of Hong Kong
壁形金冠

WhatsApp Image 2022-01-14 at 11.42.54 AM.jpeg

The Corona Muralis of Hong Kong is a ceremonial gilt finial at the top of the Arbitration Committee's flagpole. It was designed by former arbitrator H.L. Ho and was made in Hong Kong. Its design integrated several elements from the Coat of arms of Hong Kong and the Armorial Bearings of the Urban Council of Hong Kong.

The shape of corona muralis acknowledges the battle of Hong Kong in 1941. The golden harvest surmounting it is an indication of the city's geographical and cultural context. At bottom, a rope in white and blue symbolises Hong Kong as a coastal city.  At top, the pearl held by a demi lion Or indicates the glory and spirit of the city, through recalling a romanticised phrase - "Pearl of the Orient".

Diameter: 9cm; Height: 11.5cm
